Crested Tit. The crested tit, with his distinctive black and white crest is found in ancient Caledonian pine forests and Scots pine plantations, where it nests in rotting wood. It forages on the trunk and large branches of pine trees for seeds and invertebrates. I spent some time in a Scots pine plantation near Inverness to witness the crested tits. They move and twitch very quickly so I was pleased to capture this portrait.
